NW PA Pride Alliance and other area groups and individuals will be holding a candlelight vigil tonight, Sunday, June 12 at 8 PM in front of the Zone Dance Club, 133 W 18th St, in memory of the vicitms of the Orlando Pulse Night Club shooting.
Today our thoughts and hearts are with the victims and families of the victims of last night's shooting at Orlando's Pulse Nightclub. In the wake of such senseless tragedy it's natural to feel fear, to feel pain and anger. Which is why the most important thing to remember in the stark, numbing agony of these moments is that we must remain strong and united even in our many varied differences against those who would deny us our right to love freely and openly. Against those who would, by their words and deeds, deny us our very lives. So we ask today that you join together in love, not in anger, and support each other in this terrible time. Let those who would see us fall instead see us stand together, bloody but unbowed, and resolute in our determination to be who we are in our heart of hearts. Let them see that love will always win over hatred, and that we will deny them the satisfaction of our fear. Today we are one, and we are truly mighty.
